Color Trends- Tangerine & Steel Gray

There are always so many great color palettes out there but I found this one on Pearls Events Blog and really loved it. The credit for the design of this inspiration board goes to White Dress Events-- I can imagine so many neat elements to incorporate into a wedding or another event with this palette and it could work with any season- now if we could only find the client that agrees-- let the planning begin!! Here is another gray & orange inspired board from The Perfect Palette

We were nominated for the Gala Awards 2009!!

We were fortunate & got to attend the Special
Event Show in New Orleans this year. Like years' past- it was great to mingle with others in the industry and attend some pretty beneficial classes- it's always so interesting to see what other trend setters in the industry
are doing in their own events--

This year was a bit more exciting because after our very first entry
for a gala award (which is also known as the "Oscars" of the international event world)-- we were nominated as ONE OF THE TOP 3 in the
industry for "Event Decor with a budget of $50-$150k". Take a peak at some of the pictures of the event we were nominated for...

After a long blog hiatus

Okay so we haven't done the best job at keeping the blog updated-- but it is one of our goals this year to keep more pictures posted and let you know about some of the great event & color trends in the event world....

wedding season

now that this kentucky weather is finally warming up- wedding season is upon us. i (melody) just finished holly and clifton's wedding (central christian church with marriott griffin gate pavilion reception) this past weekend. everything turned out beautiful- blue skies with big puffy white clouds and holly was such a beautiful bride. her bouquet was a loose garden style with masses of white peonies, raunuculus, hydrangeas, lisianthus, and freesia- perfect for a spring wedding.

i got the chance to work with todd pellowe again- his photography is amazing and his personality makes him enjoyable to work with throughout the wedding day. he has already posted several pictures from the wedding on his blog- http://toddpelloweblog.com/louisville-wedding-photographer/so make sure and check it out. here are just a few....

Innovate your Marketing Dollars

Budgets are tight...time to get creative. In today's current economy, brands struggle to create name recognition on a shoestring budget. It is not surprising that events are playing a more significant role in branding to customers than ever before.

As seen in the picture above, events aren't just for entertaining anymore. Peter Van Zeyl, Business Development Manager at Harts Party Hire, located in Melbourne, Australia, proves that Mitsubishi brand name recognition can still be achieved on a limited budget. http://www.hartspartyhire.com.au/

At All Occasions, it is our goal to understand our client's needs and strategically brand their product or corporate image in an original and effective way to make the most of your marketing dollars. Below are a couple of examples thanks to Pierce Promotions, which takes a company logo and maximizes brand name recognition for event participants.

According to Steven Howard, author of "Corporate Image Management: A Marketing Discipline for the 21st Century," Nothing touches the customer more than how he or she perceives your corporate image. This fundamental perception not only determines whether the customer will conduct business with you, it also provides competitive advantages, increase employee morale and loyalty, and a future direction for the organization.

Special Event Show- San Diego

We went to the Special Event Show again this year at the end of January. We had a great time (and also conveniently missed the ice storm). Overall, there were some really great speakers in the classes, and a lot of new neat ideas on the exhibit floor.

One class was led by Sasha Souza, an extremely talented, wedding designer/planner out in the wine country of Californa. Here are some inspiration boards from Snippet and Ink showing some great color combinations for events this season:

Here is a sample inspiration board from Snippet and Ink:

Row 2: invitation by Bird & Banner, Ariella Chezar bouquet photo by Meg Smith, bowl of lemons photo by Jose Villa
Row 3: roses and figs from Brides, photo via Cote de Texas, Acqua di Parma photo by Christopher Micaud, cigars from Oh How Charming!

Row 4: plantation house, calligraphy by Bernard Maisner, centerpiece from Martha Stewart Weddings, staircase via Belle Maison

Several of the classes featured Steve Kemble, “America’s Sassiest Lifestyle Guru”. Always entertaining and never a dull moment in these classes- it was really neat to hear about his experiences and how he got his start in the event world.

The Hottest Event & Entertainment Ideas ™ by Michael Cerbelli-

This session showcased some new products for the event industry and by far- this is the craziest—the Manned Cloud. Yes- it is a hovering hotel that can accommodate up to 40 passengers complete with a spa, restaurants, and bars. Check out these pictures-

We also got to go to Cort Furniture's Eden Party to see some of their products used in an event setting at the W hotel in San Diego. It was nice to be able to network with others in the industry and enjoy the San Diego weather on the W's rooftop terrace.
